Inclusion
At Kirton Primary School, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued, safe and able to achieve their very best. We believe that diversity enriches us all and that every child, regardless of background or ability, has the right to access a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum.
Our approach to inclusion means that we:
-
Recognise and celebrate individuality – every child’s strengths and needs are considered.
-
Provide personalised support so that pupils with additional needs can participate fully in school life.
-
Work in partnership with families, local services and external professionals to ensure needs are met effectively.
-
Monitor progress closely, adapting our provision and teaching to secure the best outcomes for all children.
Support for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
We understand that some children may require extra support to access learning or school life. Our dedicated SEND provision ensures that pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities receive the care, guidance and resources they need.
Meet Our SENDCo
Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) is Mrs Lewis. She leads our inclusive practice and works closely with teachers, parents/carers and specialist services to ensure that all pupils with additional needs are supported effectively.
Mrs Lewis is available to:
-
Discuss your child’s needs and progress
-
Explain how we assess and plan support
-
Help you understand the different types of support available
-
Connect you with further advice and services
If you need support with your child’s SEND provision, please speak to your child's class teacher.
